"Most of the bottles of Glenmorangie 1963 have already gone to private collectors. It is believed to be the world's first wood-finished whisky, according to Reserve, which will sell it for $550 per shot".

Murray I wonder how quickly it will sell out at $550 per shot. _________________ There's no bad whisky. Just good whisky and better whisky. |

William, that would be $609. Canadian dollar equivalent. For that money, instead of a scotch
dram, I'd rather take a few friends to Toronto to a major league baseball game, best seats in the stadium, pay for lunch and still have some money in the wallet. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

Not too sure about the value of this really. The whole point of a bottle of this being expensive is because of the bottle. To a collector it is worth a lot and the bottle has silver components (which make it expensive in its own right).
In a bar you are just buying the liquid and not the bottle containing the liquid, so how this equates to a breakdown of the value per shot vs value of a bottle to investors I'm not sure.
it's a 23 yo whisky.......this pricing puts it at $15,400 a bottle (if you ignore the bar's markup). Now it may be worth $15,400 a bottle as a bottle to a collector, but not for it's liquid part sold in 25ml measures.

This just seems utterly stupid, as others have said, the cost of owning the bottle is very different than the cost per dram, for something exclusive like this, the cost per dram should be a fraction of what the equiverlent cost for the bottle should be.
