In celebration of Glengoyne's 175th year (1833 - 2008), the distillery is adding three new 70cl Limited Edition Single Cask Malts to their award-winning whisky portfolio.

Handpicked by a team of experts at Glengoyne and personally approved by the signature of Robbie Hughes, Distillery Manager, the limited edition 11 Years Old, 16 Years Old and 19 Years Old are to meet the growing demand from Glengoyne enthusiasts, keen to discover new and rare expressions from the highly respected distillery.

The three single casks each have their own unique characteristics. The 11 Years Old, described as deep auburn with slow legs in appearance, offers a sweet nose of chocolate cake mix and warm sherry, complemented by a palate of plums and rum and raisin ice-cream with a long and oaky finish.

The 16 Years Old, from a refill hogshead cask, is gold in appearance, with a nose of summer fruits and strawberry ice-lollies. A palate of bananas and cream then develops to stewed apples and grapefruit, before a very long and slow finish.

Described in appearance as dark mahogany with a ruby glow, the 19 Years Old Glengoyne is a classic after dinner dram. Starting sweet on the palate before getting beefy with prunes, this full flavoured Single Malt offers a long and dry finish.

These exceptional malts are limited worldwide to 301 bottles of the 11 Years Old, 287 bottles of the 16 Years Old and 262 bottles of the 19 Years Old. UK recommended retail prices for these very limited bottles start at £105 for the 11 Years Old, £145 for the 16 Years Old and £169 for the 19 Years Old, reflecting their rarity.

I have added tasting notes to the tasting notes forum for all 3 new whiskies.
