Hi everybody, I've got a question for you.
I always know some kind of whiskies, but I tink that my experience is not sufficient, I hope you understand what I mean...well, I've got to ask:
What kind of whisky I have to taste absolutely, whick kind of single malt? I prefer peaty ones, but every advice is accepted.
Sorry for my english Embarassed , and thank you.
Bye,
Fulvio Cool

Hi Fulvio

You say you prefer peaty whisky so i would think you would love all the Islay region whiskies. Although not all peated whisky comes from Islay you will find some peated whisksys you will like from other regions also.

This is what i would recommend trying if you like peaty smoky whisky:

Ardbeg 10 Year Old - Excellent whisky for your money.
Ardbeg 1990 Airigh Nam Beist - Excellent a little bit more expensive than the 10 year old
Ardbeg 17 Year Old - More expensive again but worth it if you want to spoil yourself.

Lagavulin 16 is excellent.

Laphroaig 10 year old
Laphroaig Quarter Cask - My choice from this distillery but they are all worth trying.
Laphroaig 10 Year Old Cask Strength

Talisker 10 year old is very good and the 18 year old is excellent both are not heavily peated but have a delicious touch of smoke these are both highly rated whisky.

Other distilleries which produce smoky peaty malts which are worth trying are{
Clynelish, Caol Ila, Bowmore, Bruichladdich, Port Ellen

Moving away from the smokier malts i would recommend:

Highland Park 12 & 18 year old and older if you have the money.
Old Pulteney 12 Year Old
Balvenie 12 Doublewood

Thanks a lot Kenny, your advices were perfect. So, now I can begin to try every kind of peaty whiskies, but not only peaty ones.
Good bye,
Fulvio
