750 ml, 80 proof (40% ABW).

This comes from The Speyside distillery, and is discontinued. The bottle (not the label) says the distillery was established in 1895, but thats untrue. I am trying to get to the bottom of the problem; possibly the US importer brought casks over and bottled it here. I am writing The Speyside to find out what I can (the US importer is no longer in business, so I can't get anything from them.) I know that this whisky has rated poorly by people from the UK, but (a) its really apples and oranges - the whisky sold in the US appears to be very different (I quite liked it) and (b) I think it hardly matters if one is trying to collect whisky - what should matter is that this is rare.

Questions and offers by private message or e-mail, please, but do add comments here; I think its the most controversial bottle I have come across, certainly that I ever bought.
