McClelland is a bottler, I think mostly (if not completely) for export to the US. Here in the states they sell "Highland", "Lowland" and "Islay" varieties, some with "exotic" finishes. As far as I know, they haven't revealed which distilleries they are buying from. I'll occassionally attend (or host) a "McClelland Party", where we compare the stuff with distillery bottled whisky and try to guess. So far just guesses (and plenty of fun!)
750 ml, 40% ABV.

| McClelland Highland, Lowland and Islay whisky is owned/bottled by Morrison Bowmore Distillers and contains whisky from the Morrison Bowmore distilleries which are Bowmore (Islay), Auchentoshan (Lowland) and your bottle of Highland malt would have came from Glen Garioch. They are as could as the distillery bottlings just much cheaper, they used to be available here in the UK but you dont see them these days, i think most goes to North America these days. |

THANK YOU, Fergie! I have to say I am surprised that Morrison Bowmore is involved with Glen Garioch, indeed with any cheap stuff. I generally regard The Bowmore as usually exceptional. No more parties, I guess. Slaintje - D _________________ Dane Brooke |
