Today, I visit the Concrete Cow Boutique Brewery in Bradwell Abbey, Milton Keynes. I'd been told my friends that they produced some cracking beers, so popped in to collect a gift pack to try.
I got somewhat of a surprise, as there was also "Sacred Cow" English Malt Spirit (40%ABV) on sale, in beautifully presented bottles (70cl & 25cl) with gold wax seals.
I'm not good on the technical side of production, but seemingly the brewery produces "mash wort" from all barley. Along with the basic pale malt, they add plenty of Amber and Chocolate malt into the mix.
The liquid then goes off to a "boutique distillery" to be distilled into spirit and is then straightaway bottled.
Tiny quantities of caramel are added at bottling (pause for collective tutting) to give the spirit a bit of colour.
I've not tasted it, but seemingly it has a loyal band of fans and they're now on batch 5. |

I would guess that it may be a bit like a sweet and slightly chocolatey spirity liqueur. Hope you enjoy it _________________ There's no bad whisky. Just good whisky and better whisky. |

| Sounds really interesting. I get the use of caramel in this instance with this being an unwaged spirit. |
