The info i got sent from Diageo for the Convalmore 36 Year Old Special Release 2013 is here:
http://www.scotchmaltwhisky.co.uk/convalmore36yearold1977.htm
if you click on the image to enlarge it, it clearly states on the label that the number of bottles are 2980.
My first thought was a typo on The Whisky Vault web site but when you zoom into the image you can see that the number on the bottle label on The Whisky Vault site is 2680. I am not aware of Diageo doing 2 special releases of Convalmore 36 Year Old in 2013 but that doesn't mean that they didn't.
What makes me wary of the bottle on The Whisky Vault website is when you compare the print of the text for the printing of the bottle number on the label a different font has been used, it is a little larger, bolder and not a hand written style of font. Having said that the image i was sent may have been a artistic impression and the font may have changed when the whisiy was bottled.
You could try contacting Diageo via their malts.com website and ask if they did 2 releases and if there would have been a difference in fonts on the label printing.
Do let us know how you get on, fingers crossed you have a genuine bottle. _________________ There's no bad whisky. Just good whisky and better whisky. |

Dr/William,
Many thanks for your answers.
I have an answer, as per Dr's post, it' a typo.
It turns out that 2980 bottles where in line to be bottled, however, at the last moment, it was changed to 2680. I've spoken with Billy at thewhiskeyexchange who has confirmed that it is a typo.
Thanks again for your replies. |
