This is a limited Edition of only 24 released by the Bannockburn Heritage Centre. It comes in a well made wooden box and is extremely well presented. It is marked as 16 year old but with no Distillery identified.
It was priced at £240 but they sold bottles numers 13 & 14 for £1000 for the pair.
Does anybody have any more info on this release eg which Distillery did it come from or has anyone tasted it? _________________ JIM SIMPSON |

Jim the Battle of Bannockburn 700th Anniversary whisky originates from the Glenfarclas distillery. It was created through a collaboration between the Stirling Whisky Shop and the Glenfarclas Distillery.
The whisky in the bottle is from cask numbers 13 & 14. 1314 was the year of the battle of Bannockburn so that will be why they sold bottles 13 & 14 for £1000. Very much one for tourists and collectors.
Dont quote me on this, i believe there are 700 bottles of the Battle of Bannockburn 700th Anniversary whisky and i think a few of these bottles were bottled in special decanters which were to be auctioned and the rest are in a standard bottle and come with a miniature bottle also and the price for the standard bottle with miniature is £64.99. _________________ There's no bad whisky. The Glanfarclas, which I also have in my collection, is a completely different whisky. As you say it is an issue of 700 bottles.
The Schiltron is an Edition of only 24 which have, not unsurprisingly sold out. It is a 16 year old but from a so far unidentified distillery. It was sold ,as I indicated ,by the Bannockbun Heritage Centre only. _________________ JIM SIMPSON |

| William the bottle you mention from the Stirling Whisky Shop contains whisky from 2007 according to the shops website, so only around 7 year old. |

It appears that there is now a new Edition of Schiltron .It is being sold by the National Trust for Scotland at the Bannockburn Visitors Centre.
This time it is an 18year old and there are 100 bottles in contrast to the previous release which was had 24 bottles and was a 16 year old.
It is interesting to note that they have added an extra £60 to the price making it £300.
Also they have again chosen to withhold the name of the distillery which produced it.
It would seem that the original bottle which will be on the Scottish Whisky auction next month with a reserve of only £200 is a bargain. _________________ JIM SIMPSON |

| Personally, I can think of a dozens of £200 whiskies preferable to a relatively young and obscure 'undisclosed' bottling. |
