Douglas Laing have added a new Highland blended malt whisky named Timorous Beastie. It joins Big Peat and Scallywag in the Douglas Laing small batch regional blended malt range.

Timorous Beastie contains amongst others - Dalmore, Glengoyne and Glen Garioch. bottled at 46.8% ABV, naturally coloured and not chill-filtered.

A very easy to drink Highlander and it is just as you would expect from a Highland region malt whisky, light bodied with a bit of fruit, honey, spicy character and with a dryish finish. Has a RRP of £34.99

William, I like the bottle design and graphics as well and the price seems reasonable. Wonder if it will make its way across the pond.

You gotta love DL's branding and packaging, the are very good at it. It will be difficult to pick this up when you have the Dalwhinnie often on offer for £27 but i will probably give it a go at some point.

Pete, interesting that the Dalwhinnie 15 goes for 50 British pounds equivalent here in Ontario, almost double what you quoted across the pond. When there is a discount here on a single malt scotch, it's usually just a couple of dollars, barely noticeable.

Intersting that there is some Dalmore in it, not a malt you see much of other than distillery bottlings. DL must have plenty of it to make the Timorous Beastie a permanent addition to their regional blended malt range.

Thats true you never see much indie releases of Dalmore, perhaps it is only a teaspoon of Dalmore in each vatting and they are quoting the name to atrract the whisky drinkers.
