I have always meant to add a thread for Whisky Competitions, anyway here it is.

To start off the thread there is a brilliant competition being run by anCnoc whisky to win your very own barrel of anCnoc. You will be involved in the production process from start to finish and then watch your barrel filled for maturation. Your barrel would then rest in the traditional dunnage warehouses at Knockdhu distillery until the time came for your special individual cask bottling, all of which would be yours to do what you wish with. Closing date of the promotion is 30/06/09

You will find the competition here:
www.ancnoc.com

If you know of anymore good whisky competitions just add them to this thread.

The barrel of anCnoc is a superb prize.

The only comp i know about is from Glenfiddich, they have a Christmas competition on their site:

www.glenfiddich.co.uk/xmas/enter.html

The prize is a Glenfiddich Brand Ambassador will treat you to an in-depth and exclusive whisky tasting, where you'll get the chance to taste the full Glenfiddich range, from the 12 to the 30 year old, and learn the secrets that make their whiskies unique. After the tasting, you'll enjoy a luxury meal, hosted by a very special whisky guest. The tasting events will take place in Feb next year.

The Feb/March competition at the Arran whisky website is for a hard back copy of a beautiful new Burns book "Cronies, Colleagues and Contemporaries" by James L Hempstead worth £25 and a bottle of Arran Robert Burns Single Malt Whisky.

All you have to do is write a few lines of poetry in praise of the Arran Dram.

You can enter here: http://www.arranwhisky.com/MonthlyCompetition.aspx

Good Luck

Highland Park Orkney Islands Break Competition

Saw this on the Highland Park website although the comp is being run by the visitscotland website:

http://campaign.visitscotland.com/orkney/highland-park/

What you can win:

You and a partner will fly to Orkney with return flights courtesy of Flybe and Loganair, to spend 4 nights on a bed and breakfast basis in a deluxe room at the luxurious 4-star The Lynnfield Hotel, centrally located and next door to the world-famous Highland Park distillery. Enjoy a delicious dinner of local produce on your first evening in the whisky-themed restaurant, and take in the spectacular views the hotel offers.

Take the exclusive and personal Magnus Eunson Tour of the Highland Park distillery and discover the history and tradition of Highland Park, and sample a dram of their famous whisky.

Unlock thousands of years of history with a Historic Scotland Orkney Explorer Pass and enjoy Orkney's fascinating heritage. And with £200 spending money included, you'll be simply spoilt for choice!

6 lucky runners-up will each win a bottle of 12-year-old Highland Park whisky.

The competition is open to all UK, CI, IoM and RoI residents except employees and their immediate families of VisitScotland, their agents or anyone professionally connected with the promotion.

Cheers Bookie, i have put an entry in for my father.

I have noticed that Arran seems to have stopped their competitions, they still appear to be running the Feburary / March comp.
