Hello there, I wondered if you could help me. I was recently given a bottle of 1964 Glenfarclas single cask malt scotch whisky. The bottling date is 27/02/07 and it is one of 415 bottles distilled and bottled by J&G Grant, Glenfarclas Distillary, Speyside, Scotland.
I wondered whether you would be able to tell me how much it is worth. I was told the retail value was £350 and it would not go up in value in time.
I'm thinking of selling the whisky and also would love to know how you think I would do this best.
As you may already know the bottle you have is from the Glenfarclas Family Cask Series which was launched in 2007. It is a unique collection of 43 Single Cask whiskies, with one for each year from 1952 to 1994. There is more info on the Family Cask series here: http://www.scotchmaltwhisky.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=193
As far as value is concerned if you take a look at The Whisky Exchange you will see they have a bottle of Family Cask 1964 priced at £360
The Whisky Exchange do also buy rare and collectable whisky you can contact them via their website but dont expect an offer very close to the retail price.
There is also ebay where a lot of rare and collectable whisky is sold. Feel free to list your whisky on this forum in the whisky for sale section or if you list your whisky on ebay feel free to link to it from this forum.
