You need to try to sample before you buy. This was the worst whisky I've had in a very long time, the nose was that bad I had to drink it from a tumbler instead of my Glencairn so I didn't have to smell it. I wasn't quite bad enough to go down the sink but not far off. I was happy to see the bottle come to an end as drinking it became a chore.
The 10yo is many leagues apart from the Storm. Incidentally, they did a Dark Storm for travel retail which I understand was quite good, but in my view the standard bottling is atrocious. _________________ "Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whisky is barely enough." |

| Opelfruit, I have a bottle of the Dark Storm and have tried the Storm and I don't really see that much difference between the two - but I didn't hate the Storm like you did. The only fault is that it should be cheaper than the 10 year-old. The Dark Storm is better in my opinion, but the 10 year-old is the pick. |

The Talsiker 10 year old is an outstanding whisky, I wouldnt rate the Talsker Storm as highly as the 10 year old but it is also a very good whisky. If i was to rate them i would rate the Talisker 10 at 94/100 and the Storm at 87/100.
I certainly wouldnt rate the Talisker Storm poorly at all, the Storm is a bit more spicy and more youthful than the 10yo although i was hoping for it to be spicier, it wasnt quite the storm i was hoping for but still very enjoyable. As Alexppp points out, its only fault is its price, it really should be cheaper than the 10yo but certainly worth a try if you are a Talisker fan. Look out for it on offer in the big supermarkets if you want to give it a go. |

| I have had both the Talisker Storm and the Talisker Dark Storm and both are good whiskies, perhaps a little disappointing (given the price) to fans of the superb 10 year old but they are in no way bad whiskies IMO for what its worth. Both are milder than the Storm name would imply. The Dark Storm is the better of the 2 but there isnt much between them and given the Dark Storm is a 1 litre bottle for around the same price as the 70cl Talisker Storm i would say it is the one to go for if you get a chance to get hold of a bottle from travel retail. |

| When I was in the Hebredies I visited Talisker and the 10 was always a bottle I had open (along with Macallan). As both are now NAS and more expensive they are now not an option for me to buy. The Storm was a disappointment for me (although I was generally always going to be disappointed by this given the price, unless it blew me away). I've got a couple of bottles of 25 year old waiting to be opened one day and I reall hope this brings me back to wanting to try more given my history with Talisker. |

I enjoy the Talisker 10 as well as the Distiller's Edition and the 57 Degrees North expressions. I haven't had the Talisker Storm. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

| I do wonder how successful the younger NAS Talisker Storm has been for Diageo, I cant fault the whiskies, I have had a couple of bottles of the Talisker Storm, 1 i bought and 1 was a gift but now i have tried them i would never pick it up before the cheaper Talisker 10 year old. I agree with others, age and price aside the 10 year old is a better than the Storm. My guess is the Storm was aimmed at and priced for the gift market, still a decent whisky if you are a Talisker fan. |

Looks like I've had a bad experience. Something not right with mine, if I did it blind here would have been no way on earth that I'd have said it was from Talisker. I'd have pegged it at a Jura, and an extra poor one at that.
......maybe a duff batch.
Shame, the 57 north is excellent and shows they really can do good NAS if they want to. _________________ "Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whisky is barely enough." |

| Given a choice between the Talisker 10 and Storm i would take the 10, both are a must try on your whisky journey and neither will break the bank but i would agree the Storm should have been priced under the 10 year old |

I have a bottle of Talisker 2013 distillers edition and it is fantastic, as of right now I have not gotten a bottle of Talisker 10 or storm because the 10 is way overpriced at bevmo. _________________ The Laga 16.
