Weird one this, but part of drinking whisky is the selection of the bottle for your chosen storage area and the anticipation of the liquid to come. As bottles are all different shapes and sizes the corks all make very different noises when pulled.
Pulling the cork and the sound it makes all adds to the prize that is to come, and I find that Ardbeg bottles sound the best to me.....having just opened one.
So, which of your bottles sound the best to you when you pop the cork? Which one gets you salivating the most in anticipation?
....or am I just being weird.... _________________ "Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whisky is barely enough." |

I especially like opening a bottle for the first time.

YOUR JUST WEIRD...😝😝😝😝😝

To be honest this is something that I've never really got, I love the packages, I love the bottles, I love the buying and unwrapping, I love the drinking/nosing but I'm not a cork popper 😢 |

i too like the sound of the cork as it comes out of the bottle, aberlour 10 sticks in my head from the sqeak as you give the cork a light twist and thwuuump as you gently tease the cork from the neck
the first thing i always do is close my eyes and get my nose right in there for the sweet aromas!
i better go now before i pop my cork!
cheers alan |

| Yes this is weird but i will add dont forget the glug glug sound as the air enters the bottle during the first couple of pours from a newly opened bottle This is a sound which is also unique to individual bottles i would say. |

Actually, now that you mention it, I noticed a really robust glug glug...during the first few pours of Johnnie Walker XR 21 Year. Go figure.... _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

"There's the pop" the cork sound is the best part.
Ardbeg and Bruichladdich have the best cork sounds in my humble opinion. _________________ The Laga 16.

| Just opened a bottle of Tweedale blend and the cork popping was champagnesque! Great sound - followed by a robust glugging! |
