As it's generally not about in the UK for much below £100 and never having tried it before I was hoping to get some of your kind gents thoughts on the Glenfarclas 17yo.

I've seen it for sale in a few places recently for £50-60 which seams far more reasonable priced and thinking of giving it a go.

Hi Rob. I've never actually tried it myself but the everyday price here in Ontario is 65 British pounds equivalent.

I think it's 'exclusively' for overseas and travel retail although Whisky Exchange seem to always have it for £99. The whisky shop in Dufftown have it for £56 but I don't know anyone who has ever tasted it! I know it won't be toilet cleaner and Jim Murray likes it with a score of 93 too, but then I have also seen a lovely looking 15yo single sherry cask BenRiach for £65! Maybe I'm just having a crisis on a Thursday night!

I bought the 17yr old Duty Free a couple of years ago I have been hoping to get another bottle and if it is at the Whisky Shop for £56 I will be on the phone in the morning, I love the 15 but for me the 17 is better.

Cheers

Just got a bottle as thinking about it the 17 yo is the only one in the Glenfarclas core range I've never tried so why not complete the set!

The Glenfarlas 17 used to be readily available in duty free so i have had a few bottles in the past, personally i prefer it over the 15, 21 and 25 year old

Definitely not the best Glenfarclas out there but when I was passing through DF shops at the int. airports I almost always got a bottle.

The Glenfarclas 17 used to be a regular purchase of mine when passing through the airport but World Duty Free and World of Whiskies stopped stocking it about 3 years ago. Definitely worth a try Rob for any fan of Glenfarclas and £56 is a good price. The 17 was supposed to have been replaced in travel retail by a Glenfarclas 18 travel retail exclusive back in Jan 2013 but i still havent come across it.

I finished a bottle of new Glenfarclas 18 few months ago.
It's similar to 17yo but feels a bit younger and there is no trace of smoke on this one.
