"He may be best associated with his 'shaken, not stirred' Martini in James Bond, but Sir Sean Connery has topped a poll as the Scotsman most Britons would like to share a dram of whisky with." Mary Queen of Scots second and Sir Alex Ferguson, third.

What famous person would you pick to share a dram with? _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

Probably Jesus..If he can turn water into wine then he can turn toshan into something resembling whisky
I wouldn't share a dram with Connery either, he'd drink all my good stuff. _________________ "Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whisky is barely enough." |

I have 3 choices if we open it up to any famous person, anywhere , alive or deceased:
Mark Twain
Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, past Prime Minister of Canada.
Maurice Richard, Captain of the Montreal Canadians hockey team and probably the best hockey player of his century. I actually met him 50 years ago. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

If looking at Scottish people then David Stewart, I'm sure sitting down and talking to him could be pretty interesting.... If it's anyone dead or alive I've often thought of famous people that I would want to drink with but now I just think either of my grandads as I never got to meet them...
Opelfruit I would possibly choose Jesus, firstly to truly find out if he existed and secondly he could turn water into Auchentoshan everyday for me ( o wait someone already does, maybe they are descendants of his 😝)
I'm happy to sit and drink a wee dram of whisky with anyone who loves whisky, as everyone can be interesting in some way.. |

John Lennon, he often quoted his favourite drink in the 60's was whisky. Although I think in the 70's it was brandy alexanders.
Also journalist once asked him 'how he writes a song' Lennon 'well I normally shut myself in a room with a piano, a guitar and a bottle of Johnnie Walkeror Macallan and everything flows'. Once again I think this process changed later in the 60's......... |
