Instead of throwing away your empty single malt bottles , how about:

Interesting observation. That was the byline for the article. Personally, I actually keep some of the interesting/unique bottles and boxes when empty. All the others go into the recycle.

| I just struggle to throw them away, anything with a decent packaging stays, the standard everyday drinkers go, but not sure I'd want to make something else out of them.. |

Of course, empty bottles and boxes can really accumulate with some whisky aficionados and one would not want to have to rent storage space to keep empties, i.e., bottles and boxes. I also actually know someone who lines the staircase in his home with empty bottles and boxes and he has a long staircase.

I have my first finished bottle as a memento. And plan to re-use it as a blending vat, to experiment with blending some less expensive malts to see what happens.
I also plan to keep my first empty A'bunadh bottle for potential experiments in continued maturation, with some sticks of baked wood. Saw this on Ralfy's blog and thought it might be fun to use up some old single malt. A'bunadh specifically because of the wide mouth bottle.
Everything else gets returned for deposit. _________________ Slainte |

| Good plan, I have several small barrels that I use for same thing, and the abunadh bottles are so much better when full, they just don't stay that way for long 😞 |
