Just a little fun, if you could only buy one more bottle of whisky which bottle would you buy, I'm talking bottles that are in your budget range, so if you would pay no more than £50 or £500 then that's your limit,
I would probably say mine would be the Glenfarclas 40, simple reason is I love the nose, I love the taste and at the old price £290-£340 it was a bargain, might think twice at current price.. So what would you buy ?

I would say NV Gordon & MacPhail MacPhail's Collection Highland Park 30 Year Old. It impressed me a lot. I have of course tasted whiskies ( by the dram) I liked even more but the price points are beyond what I would in good conscience spend for a whole bottle.

Glenlivet 18 for me, still one of the best whiskies around in my book. Preferred it when it was £35 a bottle rather than £60 but thats the way with everything now.

I still have one of these unopened in the cupboard, saving it for some occasion. It's a stellar dram.

A George T Stagg, any year, but as these are like rocking horse poo it's not going to be possible. So I'd go for a Hibiki 21yo - one of those that I just sit there in awe of whenever I have glass.

The 17 and 21 share the same DNA but the makeup of the 12 is different. It's a good blend but the 17 and 21 are a world appart. The 21 is something else, if you ever get chance then try a sample, it's hard to get hold of now as there is only a limited annual outrun and not much gets imported to the UK.

NIkka's Miyagikyo is probably up your street, it's a soft, fragrant and quite elegant/fruity malt.

I would go for the Glenfiddich 30 year old but the way prices are going i would guess it won't be in my price range in the not too distant future even to spoil myself with, which is a pity. It does look like the Glenfiddich have recently edged the 30 year old out of the limelight in favour of their new Glenfiddich Excellence 26 year old which is more readily available on the shelves of the whisky shops.

Couldnt believe the price of the 30 when I looked it up after seeing your post, £499 at TWE, it is superb though.

I am another one who would go for the Highland Park 25 year old.
