I thought i would give these a mention as i know there are a few Glenfarclas fans amongst you. The Whisky Exchange have added Glenfarclas The Legend of Speyside whiskies to their shop, this is a trilogy of Glenfarclas whiskies which were bottled for the German market, each bottled at 46% ABV and aged in ex-oloroso sherry casks, TWE describe each as a classic example of the distillery's style.

The 3 whiskys are:

I wonder if it is the same whisky in each bottle and just 3 different labels/tins as TWE dont mention any difference between the 3 whiskies.

Notice they have just come back in stock. At £40 I'd rather get A'Bunadh, 105 or Glenfarclas 12/15 to be honest!!

I had a look at some German websites and there was 6000 of each of these produced but i cant find anything to say that it is different whiskies in each bottle. I did find one site that gave a tasting note for each which i translated using Google.

Glenfarclas Legend of Speyside - Team
Aroma: exotic, ripe fruit, the sweetness of Spanish sherry, some oak
Taste: soft and round, fruity notes, even the sherry is again present, light oak tones
Finish: Classic Glenfarclas with the fruitiness of sherry, plus some honey and again the oak

Glenfarclas Legend of Speyside - Passion
Aroma: sherry flavors, hints of oak, fruit cake
Taste: complex in flavor, Sherry has the malt whiskey again to the fruity notes and some honey
    Finish: soft and fruity aftertaste

Glenfarclas Legend of Speyside - Springs
Aroma: sweet fruity sherry flavors, paired with some honey
Taste: elegant round, again the fruity scents, with a light oak tones
Finish: long finish with notes of ripe middle berries.
They all sound like they could be the same whisky. One for the collectors i think and i have seen some do well on auction sites.
