Which bottle of single malt has taken you the longest amount of time to finish?
So far for me it's my bottle of Laphroaig 10, which I've been slowly working my way through since early December.
I don't hate the whisky, it's certainly got a fairly 'unique' taste, but for me there's just not enough sweetness or spice to balance out the peat.
I've raced through about 4 other malts in the time I've had this one open! About 1/3 left to go.... |

Glenmorangie Lasanta. My bottle no doubt has sulphur taint and I am caught between sipping small amounts or pouring it down the sink which seems so unseemly.

| That's easy for me, a bottle of talisker, I bought about 6 years ago poss more, I opened it, I poured a wee dram and that's it... I didn't pour a single drop more, in my early days I had bought several prayed whiskys which have been opened and instantly given away, but from the bottles I like I would say a bottle of rosebank, I have several small samples drawn off, the bottle was opened about 2 years ago, otherwise a bottle might last 2-3 months, |

Probably a bottle of 30yo Talisker from the 2010 release. I opened it when my 2nd kid was born 2 years back and it took me quite a long time to drink - limited myself to small glasses - fantasic whisky.
The other one was probably a Dalmore Cigar Malt Reserve (the new one, not the [much better] older version). Mainly because it was rubbish.
Generally, opens don't last long in my house, a few months tops....depending on how many I've got open. _________________ "Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whisky is barely enough." |

Opelfruit, I was so impressed you said talisker, just a shame it was for different reasons lol,
On a serious note though, is it as good as they say it is ? |

| it took me forever to finish a bottle of Connemara peated Irish whiskey, i poured it down the sink eventually after repeatedly coming back to it for 2 years. I am still not sure if i had an off bottling but not a whiskey i will buy again. |

Currently I have a Glenmorangie 18 open, almost a year now. I liked it at first, but the citrus aspects started tasting more and more bitter as I tried other bottlings during the year. I may not be a Moragie fan at all.
At this point I leave it at my girlfriend's house for her to sip.
She doesn't like many, but that is one of them.
By contrast, Glengoyne 12 was by far the quickest bottle I ever finished. _________________ Slainte |
