|
|
The BenRiach Distillery Company have unveiled three new cask finish whiskies, the BenRiach 15 years old Sauternes finish and the BenRiach 18 years old Albariza which is a peated whisky finished in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. And from its sister distillery GlenDronach comes a new GlenDronach 18 year old Marsala Cask Finish.

The 18 year old sounds interesting especially with its tie to Marsala cask wine which comes from a region of the same name in the western part of Sicily, Italy. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

+1 on this, if it's anywhere need.as.good as the 17yo Solstice then it'll be a winner. I'll give this one a go for sure.
Any news on bottling strength, colour, filtration? They do some of the Benriach at 50% abv so I assume they will follow suit again. _________________ "Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whisky is barely enough." |

I have pre ordered the ALBARIZA from Robbies Drams. Sadly it is only 46%. _________________ Putting the func in dysfunctional. |

I forgot to say that all 3 of the whiskies have been bottled at 46% ABV and are non chill filtered and natural colour. _________________ There's no bad whisky. Just good whisky and better whisky. |

| I'll be trying the 2 unpeated ones for sure, 46% is better than 40% so can't grumble |

It seems that Glendronach released rather small batch of ex-Marsala casks.
In many shops they are sold out in minutes. I just ordered last few bottles from a shop in Nederland. |
