I thought I should bring this to the forums attention:
So, a while back, in response to a post (on a different forum) requesting advice on the best auction house in the UK, I posted the following

I have beyond extensive experience with all auction houses
Whisky online auctions customer service leaves much to be desired, it is by far the worst from the buyer perspective, to the extent that it clearly effects buyer behavior. I would pay more for the same bottle from SWA
Totally different experience at scotch whisky auctions, whisky auctioneer or Just-whisky.
Would recommend SWA or whiakyauctioneer slightly over just whisky.
Today I got the following Email from Whisky online auctions explaining that I had been banned:
Hello ****,
I trust this is from you? it was brought to my attention yesterday, and for the reasons listed below, i took it upon myself not to put you through such an experience again.
Regards
Wayne

| I havent used whisky online auction but that is a strange way to operate, if you receive a negative review ban the reviewer rather than find out why they gave a negative review and doing something about it. |

| They banned me too after I complained about their shoddy service. No great loss though. |

| There seems to be a pattern of banning people who complain about their service, this is not the first time i have heard this. It certainly puts me off ever using them. It doesnt appear to be that popular anyway, good if you are seeking out a bargain but no good if you are selling. |

| It sounds like a we will do as we want attitude and if you dont like it and complain you are gone. I agree very child like but there are plenty of better auctions to choose from nowadays. |

| It really harms the sellers as they have no idea that they have banned good buyers. I have spent 25K over the past year alone. Sellers have no idea what they would have gotten had Whisky online acted in a respectable manner. |

I've registered with Whisky Online Auctions as a potential buyer. After reading this thread, I won't give them a second thought now.
If they receive negative feedback, they should explore the reasons with those involved. Banning them is unbelievable. |

| Forgot to mention that VAT-inclusive Buyer's Commission is an eye-watering 18% of hammer price. |

Had dealings with SWA, Whisky Auctioneer and Just Whisky, all with no problems..
I have been to Just Whisky several times to pick up bottles and the guys are really good, always willing to give a bit of advice.. |
