Considering all the debate on the Forum recently regarding single malts and distilleries bending or not bending rules, I thought it would be a good opportunity to review in general terms the Scotch Whisky Regulations of 2009, a document that set the new state of affairs for the Scotch whisky industry. It is worth a refresher look by us. Anything stand out to you of particular significance to you in general germane to or mutually exclusive of the other thread? Clearly, regulations are important to maintaining "standard", credibility and viability to what is a proper dram, how it is produced and sold. Bending rules to me likens to a metaphor of seeing a car driving on the highway under the speed limit and next thing you know it veers onto a rocky dirt road with a sign in the distance saying :No Exit. Just a thought. Let's stay on the highway and follow the rules. My opinion..
