What a line-up - what are you doing with these whiskies if you don't like peat??! Personally I'm taking the Talisker 25, Caol Ila 30, Port Ellen 29, and then it's between the Highland Park and Lagavulin.

As for order, I'm going with Highland Park, Talisker, Caol Ila and Port Ellen. In fact I'm taking Highland Park over Lagavulin now that I think about it since it probably complements the other drams better.

Jealous!

I'm not a lover of peat but I do buy it for my collection, the distiller editions are from my daughters birth years, I bought a few so I have surplus, the port Ellen's well I just had to buy.. And although they are peaty they have mellowed a little.. I find any younger peaty bottles are too strong on the nose and palate for me.. And I have to have something for the guests to drink ( I'm sure one is Opelfruit in disguise) he hates Auchentoshan 😳....
Thanks Alexppp for the order,

It looks like it's going to be ...
Talisker 25,
Caol ila 30,
Port Ellen,
And a Glenfiddich 30 so I can have something 😊...

Wow Sorren,

What a fantastic line-up! I'm normally a sherry man myself but think I'd make an exception for that line-up! Look forwards to hearing your thoughts on these.

Cheers

Rob

That is a great line up. Wow.

The only thing I would add is that is may be fun to add in something young to start.
They may appreciate the range better if you start them off with a 10-15 yr old.
I always like to start a tasting with something that gets the pallet going and makes you appreciate the older whisky!!.

Well I chucked the hp 25 in too, all whisky went down well, they had tasted both the tali 25 and hp 25 before, the port Ellen did not set off any fire works, the caol ila was pretty good, not over powering, although I didn't get most of the notes banded around, I was like " you get what" " huh what zesty flavour " lol , the port Ellen I thought was ok and nothing more, it was a split decision on it, 2 people thought wow and 2 said it wasn't the best by a long way, the rest of the bottle went home with my friend in place of a Glenfarclas 1967 family cask, and Glenfiddich 30... ( open bottle ) i have to say its funny how you expect so much from these port Ellen's, yes they seem to be better after ageing but I'm not sure they are worth any where near the money they are commanding these days, I don't think I'll be buying any more... Any way everyone went home very happy ... Can't wait for our next tastin...

All sound wonderful.
But the Talisker 25 and
Caol Ila 30 would be my top choices.
(would be hard to turn down the Bunnahabain 22yo single cask, though).
