They are offering a Rare Ardbeg 1965 Whisky in their new bar in Tasmania Australia. Has anyone visited any other Australian distilleries and if so, what was the quality like.
Thanks

Hi James,
The only Australian whiskies I tasted are malts from the Tasmanian Distillery and Bakery Hill Distillery.
I had a sip of them whilst in NZ and Perth (Aus) and honestly I feel they are trying to make some good malts but the whisky needs a couple years in good oak before I have another sip.

i realize this is an old topic, but i have been to Lark distllery, which i found their whisky bar (a la selection ) rather good. Larks own whisky was ok, not fabulous but still enjoyable.
Tasting unaged whisky from them was an intersting experience... |
