Just spotted the Kininvie 25yro is in the Whisky Shop for pre-order. They've put together a proper sized bottle this time too. Am tempted to buy one as something to look at and see if the crazy international investors want to pay silly money for it. Notes from their site:
Kininvie Special Release #1 "The First Drops' has been matured in hogshead bourbon barrels, and is bottled at 61.4% abv. The supply is made up of less than 1,600 bottles worldwide, and of these just 550 bottles are dedicated to the UK.
£400 is pretty steep though. |

Having got the previous releases (except the first 23yo for the Eastern market) the new 25yo did catch my eye until I saw the price. When I think of the thread in this forum where someone asked about whiskies for £200, you could get two different amazing whiskies for the price of this Kininvie. Interesting but I'll pass this time. |

Last year I was given free membership of the W Club because The Whisky Shop cocked up an order. They definitely owe you that much! This year they cocked up several requests I put in for whisky so, yet again, I have another free membership. Somehow being a member of a club for order cock-ups doesn't feel like any form of recompense! |

| Isn't the 25 year old a 35cl half-bottle too? If yes, the £400 price tag is totally outrageous! |
