Mr. C, thanks for the detailed information on the next release of the Devil's Casks. Very interesting indeed. The 1st release was 56.9% abv, the 2nd was 56.3%abv and this 3rd one is 56.7%abv, moving up a bit from the 2nd.
The popularity of the Devil's Casks brand is clear and I have no doubt the third release will continue in that direction. We here in Ontario, Canada are behind in terms of acquiring new releases so I wouldn't be surprised if we get the 2nd release on the shelves in the Fall. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

Looks like No Age Statement
You have got to assume it is then less than 10 year old, I am sure they will reduce the price accordingly |

| I guess Bowmore is running short on aged sherried stock. |

| They may well have a stock shortage if they have to drop the age statement from a 10 year old limited release, I am sure they will sell it no problem, though it may not sell as fast. A bit like the Tempest I suppose, it started as a limited release but it is more like a small batch release now which really is seen as being that special now as you know there will be another one along soon and it was the first and perhaps the second release that was collectable. |

I wonder if they will be devilish enough to increase the £50 price tag which the first 2 Devils Casks sold for as well as bottle what is clearly going to be less than 10 year old if they have dropped the age statement. |

| Dropping the age will surely be related to stock levels, you would think. The forward planners would have been aware of maturing sherry cask stock levels when this series was started and there would have surely been enough stock to do a limited release 10 year old Devils Casks III. They probably didn't predict how popular the Devils Casks series would be and perhaps they are now trying to take advantage of how popular the Devils Casks have been and do a much larger release but don't quite have the mature stock levels to keep the 10 year old age statement going forward. |

Hi Brummie, I agree with your frame of reference. All of this only bolsters the collectability and value of the first release as well. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

Just for information purposes, I noticed in the line-up for the next whisky auction that started at one of the popular scotch whisky auction sites that 6 bottles of Devil's Casks Batch 2 are up for auction. In their last auction, there was only one bottle of the First release and none at all this time round. There clearly is a much reduced number of Batch 1 Devil's Casks bottles around in general. Likely, some collector's are holding onto them for dear life and others have only the empty bottles left. Interested to see the extent of the "feeding frenzy" on the NAS Batch 3.

| Will keep an eye out for this, on the subject of the Devils cask I always like to look around and see what price's they are currently going for and I was surprised to see a bottle for sale on Drink Super market at £65 I assumed it was the second batch as you can't get a first batch for that money. Upon inspection it seems to be a first cask release by all accounts and I now wait with anticipation at what turns up....... |
