|
|
The Famous Grouse Mellow Gold is the latest offering from The Famous Grouse .
Matured in sherry and bourbon casks, more first fill casks than normally used in the standard Famous Grouse resulting in a smooth, mellow easy to drink expression of The Famous Grouse with a noticeable sherry influence.
The Famous Grouse Mellow Gold is bottled at 40% ABV and is presented in The Famous Grouse's new look packaging, which is being rolled out from this month.
I have also heard that there are plans for other changes to the Famous Grouse range which will be unveiled later this year, they look to be making some modifications to the peaty Black Grouse bottling, hopefully they plan to increase the peat level in it, whatever they do I hope it is still as good as it is now, time will tell, watch this space.

William, I do enjoy some of the offerings from this distillery, particularly Famous Jubilee and Black Grouse Alpha. Hope the new one comes to Canada. Cheers. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

| Interesting, I wonder how the Famous Grouse Mellow Gold will compares to the Grants Sherry Cask Finish which is finished in oloroso sherry casks, I only tried it for the first time recently and was pleasantly surprised by it. |

| I wonder why they plan to make changes to the Black Grouse, that's like fixing something which isn't broken, a decent peaty blend for the price IMO. |
