If you had to choose between these 3 and can only have 2, please state which one's and why. Much appreciated.

Macallan 1995 18 year old Sherry

Glenlivet XXV

Balvenie Tun 1509 Batch 2

Balvenie Tun 1509 Batch 2 as I have not tasted it and I am a fan of the Balvenie and Glenlivet XXV as I have tasted it and it is outstanding.

Same for me too, but for a different reason. I've tried quite a few samples of 18yo Macallans and been disappointed every time. It's not a bad whisky, don't get me wrong, but it's over hyped and waaaay over priced. It's simply just not as good as other whiskies out there in the same price range. If there was a choice of another whisky in the same price range then I'd choose that other whisky (almost) every time.

I also think the Balvenie is over priced too, but I've had some of the the tun1401's and if these new ones are comparable then it'll be very good. I'd certain rather have the Balvenie than the Macallan, no doubt about it.

Caveat: personal opinion and all that.

I would definitely take the Glenlivet XXV because of its high quality and the Balvenie Tun 1509 Batch 2 mostly out of curiosity. Like John, I also have not tried this Balvenie and would be curious to see how it measures up. I have had the Macallan 1995 18 year old Sherry a number of times mostly at tastings and found it okay but with the additional almost 20-30% bump to the price at the time it was sold here in Ontario as compared to Europe, any possible motivation to buy a bottle waned quickly.

If you are a Macallan fan they you will like the Macallan 18 1995, the Glenlivet 25 is superb, not had the Balvenie Tun 1509 Batch 2 but I would be confident it is good.

I seem to agree with most of you. I'm sitting on the Mac 18 and thinking to myself I'd rather have the Balvenie. Maybe I'll try and unload the Mac 18 and pick the Balvenie up.

At the same time, I've never had the Macallan 18 before and am unlikely to be able to source another bottle.

If it's your first Macallan 18, I recommend you try it. Sometimes the grass is not always greener on the side as they say...

Oh, for sure.

However, It's highly unlikely I'll be able to procure another Balvenie either.

Umm.....still on the fence.
