It's not a whisky worth keeping IMO, and if you do keep some away for price rises then you're not going to expect to make very much on it. It's an average and basic entry level whisky.

It may come good in about 20-30 years when you pop up with a bottle from "back in the day".......but there are much better and quicker ways to make money over that period.

Interesting. Here in Ontario, Canada, there are more than 2,500 bottles of the Glenlivet 12,
750ml bottles at the LCBO stores currently on shelves. We also have over 1,000 bottles of Glenlivet Founder's Reserve on shelves. Best of both worlds. There are also hundreds of bottles of the 1140ml size bottles of the Glenlivet 12 as well. Finally, a bonus here in Ontario. No interest for me to get any G12 as they are so common here and are expected to stay in production for North America. The G12 even comes with 2 glasses.

It's a staple in the grocery stores over here. Usually goes for about $28 per 750 in Phoenix.

It's $56.95 per 750ml here in Ontario or $57.95 with 2 whisky glasses per 750ml.

Remove all taxes and they could sell it for maybe $10 and still make a nice profit. Crying or Very sad I am not very fond of the "sin" taxes.

I agreed, although I went out and bought a bottle 'just in case'. It might double its money in 30 years time but I imagine auctions will still see plenty of bottles because it's been so common. I'll be keeping it so I can whip it out and surprise youngsters at whisky tastings when I'm old and crusty (dodgy statement of the day award!). Their eyes will light up and someone will say "aaah, one of the famous drams from the olden days!" And I'll proceed to drop the bottle out of my shaky old hand.
