I drink a wide range of spirits. I like my red wine, port and real ales but mainly spirits.
Scotch, Japanese, Irish, Indian, English. Single malts, grains, blends. Armagnac, Cognac. Big bourbon fan but I've moved away recently due to big price rises.
At the moment I'm seriously into my rums, mainly those put out by Independent bottlers like Caddenhead, Bristol Spirits or Duncan Taylor.
I do draw the line a liqueurs, so you won't get a Baileys at my house....well, unless my missus has a bottle open _________________ "Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whisky is barely enough." |

That's a good question Jimmy. I have been around (on this earth) longer than most of the members of this Forum. In my case, single malt scotch, scotch blends and Canadian whiskies have always been my main liquid interests and drinks of choice. I am not a big wine aficionado per se though at a dinner party, I will have a glass of wine with the meal as is custom and if invited to friends, most folks bring a bottle of wine as a gift. I actually live in Niagara wine country here in Ontario where there are 75 wineries or more within about 50 kilometers or so of my home. The big difference with me as compared to many whisky drinking folk is that I often analyze a dram while enjoying it and even when I have the same whisky expression on various occasions, I like to jot down my taste notes to compare tasting to tasting because I get pleasure from the experience.

There is such a variety of single malt scotches that I drink almost exclusively them (along with some Irish single pot stills). Other spirits in my cupboards are aged Armagnacs, Cognacs (more single casks lately) and occasional rum. With meal I always drink wine.
:but 90% of the drinking time I have in my hand single malt scotch (usually 1-3 drams per day). |

Jimmy..
I think I'm in the single malt snobbery group.. I mostly drink single malts, I do occasionally drink blends and grain whisky, although in more recent times I have tried a couple of bourbons.. Other than whidky I am addicted to Coke ... And coffee.. I'm am sure I will venture into other drinks before too long. |

Single malts are my favorites, followed by good beers, red wine, aged ports, vodka, rye and bourbon. All consumed occasionally and in small amounts. |

Don't worry, I'm big on coffee too. I have a decent bean-to-cup machine, sat on top of my drinks fridge that's full of vodka and Jim Beam. Next to my wall of whisky, which is next to the drinks cabinet that has my cognac, bourbon and gins in... |

If you're putting vodka and JB in your bean to cup machine then you definitely have a problem!
Yes. Big coffee fan myself too. Basically, I like flavour. Where ever it comes from, if it's quality and is full of good flavours and experiences then ill drink it.
And I drink water too, sometimes, occasionally....think that's about it.
Hhmmmm yes, maybe I've got a problem. Everything I drink has mind altering effects....oh dear. _________________ "Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whisky is barely enough." |

Extra strong coffee and iced tea (no sugar) should be on the top of my list.
I am in the south this week where sweet tea is the norm! I use less sugar to bake a cake than they have in a glass of the sweet stuff. |
