A friend of mine is fairly new to the single malt world though he has tried the Macallan 12 that he bought in the USA during a vacation away from Canada.
I'm going to provide him with a dram of the following 3 single malts and take him through the steps of understanding nose, taste and finish in a more formal way so he can better appreciate the aromas and flavors.
This is what I propose to serve:
1. Tomintoul 21
2. Dalmore Cigar Malt Reserve
3. Bowmore Devil's Cask 10 Year First Edition
Not too bad I think to give him a feel for some more tasty drams that he would not normally have occasion to try.
Also, I think he has a pretty good teacher _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

The tasting just finished and was a complete success. My friend really enjoyed the Devil's Casks 10 Year 1st release. He also seemed quite impressed with the Dalmore Cigar Malt Reserve. It was an enjoyable few hours. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."
