Glenturret triple wood

November 5th 2015, this was the date Glenturret celebrated the 240th year of making whisky from the current location in Crieff.. This was also the date the distillery released the new core range, the 3 malts are Tripplewood, Sherry and Peated malts, all packaged in a new design image The distillery employes only a handful of workers, these are "? the five pairs of hands"?. Distillery manager Neil Cameron, Ian Renwick, Brian Garriock, Kenny Smith and Ian Smith, all work in keeping the old traditions of the distillery alive. Over the next few days I will be reviewing the 3 expressions starting with the Tripplewood. This is a combination of American sherry oak, European sherry oak and American bourbon oak, this is bottled at 43%abv.
Nose.. The nose is fresh and clean, lots of citrus and distinct oaky notes, orange marmalade and subtle dried fruits.

Palate.. This starts with some gentle spices, cinnamon and ginger along with hints of vanilla, some dried orange peel, honey and a hint of chocolate, there is that oaky note lingering in the background along with some coconut and Battenberg cake.

Finish.. The finish is medium with a lingering spicy, oaky note.

Thoughts.. This expression is very clean and fresh which makes it a lovely easy drinking whisky, perfect for those lazy summer evenings, share with friends, they will not be dissapointed.. This bottle can be found in the £41-£45 bracket.
