|
|
Here are my own taste notes from last night's dinner and tasting:
Glenturret 15 Year Gordon & MacPhail Collection 43% abv.
This one is from a refill sherry hogshead.
Color: Dark Amber.
Nose:Honey dew melon and papaya notes flourish with black cherry compote. There are "earthy" currants, buckwheat honey and slices of fresh strawberry-rhubarb pie being served. Nectarines erupt with healthy portions of Grandma's apple pie sprinkled with nutmeg.
Taste: Full bodied. Stewed tangy dark fruit comes to the fore with Australian black licorice and remarkable sherry notes.
Finish: Long, licorice undertones continue to serenade with sweet woody elements and cherished cherry hard candy.
Comments: This G&M offering is a substantial and voluptuous expression which fills the senses with deep aromas on the nose, flowing into multiple indications of age on the palate and culminating in a special finish.
Rating: 92.5 _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

Hi Mark. The one I tasted had a price equivalent in British pounds of 59.29
I believe it is the same one you mention and not readily available anymore as far as I know. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."
