Angus Dundee have announced the launch of a the very rare Tomintoul 40 Year Old Quadruple Cask. Why is it called "Quadruple Cask"? It is because the whisky is made up of four American oak hogshead casks which have been maturing in the Tomintoul distillery warehouse since 1974.
Bottled at 43.1% ABV, the Tomintoul 40 year old quadruple cask release is a limited release of 500 bottles and as you would probably guess it is one for those of you with deep pockets, it has an RRP of £2,500 / €3,375 / US$3,750.

Hi William. Sounds like an interesting addition to the aged Tomintoul's. I do enjoy expressions from this distillery. I have almost finished my bottle of Tomintoul 21, excellent dram. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."
