Hey guys,
I am a newbie here...
I am a fan of single malt scotch. I am interested in buying a new bottle, but don't know which one to go for. So I need your help!!!
I love the Glenmorangie range in general. I have had the original, lasanta, Quinta ruban, Tusail and the 18 extremely rare.
I have also had in the past: Glenfiddich 12, 15 & 18, Glenroth sherry cask, Macallan Amber and Sienna and most recently a bottle of Glenfarclas 25.
From the above, I have to say I have enjoyed the Glenmorangie 18, Tusail and Lasanta, Macallan Sienna and Glenfarclas 25 the most.
I prefer full bodied, but not smoky.
Any recommendations? |

Where are you located? I'm stateside so I'm limited in what I can get and recommend.
I have two favorites, The Macallan 18, and Springbank 18. The Bunnahabhain 18 is also very lovely, just a little peaty. The Glenmorangies you've listed are great.
I happen to like Oban, but I've seen it much-maligned on the forums. For me it was a great introduction to malts from the bourbons I enjoyed. |

Glenmorangie midwinter nights dram .. If you are quick.. £28 in morrisons and £40 elsewhere ..
Auchentoshan Threewood £45 ish
Glenfarclas 15 better than the 25 in my opinion..
Balvenie 15 sherry cask
Glenlivet Nadurra sherry or bourbon..?
Aberlour abunadh.. |

Agreed. I'd also go through the Glendronach range, together with the Glenmorangie special editions. |

| Have you tried anything from Glendronach? The Glendronach 12, 18 and 21 are very good. Also Glengoyne have a good range that may appeal to you. How about the Glenlivet Nadurra 16 and the new Nadurra First Fill and Oloroso are worth a try also. |

Complete agreement on the Glengoyne. I have a terrific bottle (18 I believe) in rotation right now. |

| Glenmorangie was my first scotch and I drank it and no other scotch for about ten years. Branching out from there, I found that, among the unpeated scotches, I like Sherrybombs. Tobermorie 15 is my favorite that is totally unpeated. Bunnahabhain 18 is actually my favorite, but it is a little smoky. Have fun! |
