Murray's Taste Notes for Miltonduff Berry's Single Cask 19 Y

Here are my taste notes from last night for:

Miltonduff (Berry's) Single Cask 19 Year Bourbon, 55% abv., 174 bottles worldwide.

Color-Pale gold.

Neat-

Nose: Apricots on steroids, lichee nuts in sweet syrup, dripping demerara sugar and late fresh coconuts.

Taste: Full-bodied, intense and voluptuous, spice and mint essences with tangy fermented fruit.

Finish: Long, perseverating spice with oak tannins radiating over time.

With a few drops of water:

The dram now opens with Granny Smith apples on the nose, limes a plenty on the palate and spicy elements on the finish with a late explosion of green chili peppers.

Comments: An intense cask strength whisky which celebrates its age and complexity.
It is certainly not for the scotch whisky neophyte as it packs a punch. I would have liked to spend more time with this one but the tasting last night at the event moved along at a good pace.
