1995 Signatory - Caol Ila
This 46% beauty is from the Unchilfiltered Collection by indie bottlers Signatory. Aged for 19 years in 2 hogsheads, bottle number 88 of 692. Medium yellow colour. The nose is a pure joyride of coastal peaty friendliness. It immediately takes me back to Islay. The mouthfeel has a good viscosity, with the peaty coastal brine coming on in a pure, non-harsh fashion. I do love a good peaty Islay malt and this is no exception.
