Murray's Re-Taste of Glenfiddich 18 for new notes

I provided my taste notes on the Forum for this one back in the summer of 2014. I thought it was time to take another look at this one and provide new notes based on my current palate. Palates don't stay the same I believe and variations of aromas and flavors with the same dram are more than possible between tastings of the same whisky expression especially months and years apart.

Here are my notes from today for Glenfiddich 18:

Neat-
Color-Amber sunset

Nose: Honey dew melon infused with Fralinger's Atlantic City vanilla salt water taffy. Cantaloupe rolls into the scene with mixed exotic nuts and almond encrusted croissants with late extra cherry fruit cocktail.

Taste: Medium to full bodied. Spicy fruit with a delectable lash of oak tannin awakens. Carmelized banana struts its stuff with a waft of cedar chest.

Finish: Long. Caramel square candy floats some woody notes with pistachio nut accents. Just a flash of mint julep juxtaposes with a hovering cloud of menthol to dot the "i" and cross the "t' at the end of the road.

Comments: The Glenfiddich18 has a lovely sweet sophisticated nose that spins the olfactory top of aromas like a whirling dervish. The palate is more emboldened with its age and the finish represents essences you can hold onto for some time.
