I know some members of the Forum are really into rum and Vintages has just announced a tasting event and dinner in Toronto on May 10th with 8 rums including:-
EL DORADO LIMITED EDITION ANNIVERSARY 50-YEAR-OLD RUM

You should go Murray - the prices seem very reasonable for what is on offer (although I'm unclear of the size of the sample). I do like this part:
"In order to optimize the tasting experience for all participants, please refrain from wearing any cologne or perfume".
Made me chuckle. |

Hi Viz. I expect the sample size is likely a little less than an ounce. I have 2 significant single malt events just before that event here and though I enjoy a good rum it is not one of my true alcohol interests so I won't be going. There is also the Spirit of Toronto whisky show in Toronto also in May but I won't be going there either as I don't think there will be any super-premium drams and it is not worth the drive, admission and master class expense and hotel costs for me for medium range whisky drams for a few hours. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."
