WhiskyHammers innaugural auction closes this Sunday, with quite a few low priced bottles still available. Worth a look, you may well spear a bargain Smile

I was exactly the same. I was mid-way through registration when I saw that I'd have to pay for the privilege. Strange thing for an embryonic conpany to do.

The Selling process looked 'hard work' too, as compared with other online whisky auctioneers.

Not a site for me

I sold some bottles in WhiskyHammers first auction and found the selling process very simple. Not sure which issues you were reffering to?

As but one example, sellers have to log details of each bottle. Not something that other auctions require. You just mail them off

I have not had any issues with Whisky Hammer, two other auction sites have charged me for joining which was under £5, I have no issue with this if the service they provide is good.

If you follow the instructions to list a bottle it is very simple and a good idea if they are collecting from you.
I have dropped off bottles to other auction sites and it takes ages for them to process them.

These sites should do a free to register offer. It leaves a bad taste in the mouth having to pay an initial fee to make a bid. These £3 fees shouldn't even come into their business model and should be scrapped.

I sold a few bottles with them in their first auction and they all got good prices. Given there was no commission to sellers there was no complaints from me.

I have registered 8 or 9 more in their next auction (again 0% for sellers) which is clearly great and overrides and £3 charge which every other site I have used also charges.

I think they will be charging sellers commission in their third auction but I bet it wont be anything like the 10% others charge.

If I was running a business, I too would charge a nominal fee to prevent those bidding who were not geniunely interested and therefore unlikely to pay after the auction ends.
