Glenmorangie has launched a new Private Collection range of rare, limited-edition expressions. Glenmorangie Sonnalta PX is the first expression in the collection to be released, and is exclusive to global travel retail.
Glenmorangie Sonnalta PX takes its name from the Gaelic translation of "generous" (Sonnalta) and PX (Pedro Ximenez). Glenmorangie is transferred to "PX"? ex-sherry casks from Jerez in Southern Spain for a period of extra maturation.
Glenmorangie Head of Distilling and Whisky Creation Dr Bill Lumsden said: "Glenmorangie Sonnalta PX is an extraordinarily rich, dark and absorbing malt whisky. I take the twice-yearly trip to Spain to select the very best PX casks to use alongside our mainstay bourbon barrels from the US. This is our first release for Glenmorangie's Private Collection, with more rare, delicious releases to come in the future."
He added: "On nosing Glenmorangie Sonnalta PX, the first impression is of dark chocolate, sun-dried raisins, treacle and demerara sugar. Further aromas emerge as a delicious and heady mix of hot chocolate and rich aromatic coffee, with a spoonful of honey and a bowlful of toasted almonds.
"The addition of water releases a symphony of luscious fruity, sweet and warming aromatics: the scent of red cherries emerges from a rich fruitcake alongside syrupy prunes, sun-burnt raisins and sweet flowering currants. Hints of cocoa, toast and leather bring simmering warmth," Lumsden concluded.
Glenmorangie Sonnalta PX is bottled at a strength of 46% ABV and is non chill-filtered, to impart a full body and texture.

I didnt find anything using google.. | Travel retail refers to Duty Free Shops found in airports and ferry ports. Big travel retailers in UK airports would be World Duty Free and World Of Whiskies.
