|
|
Isle of Jura has introduced three new single malt whiskies to its collection. The new bottlings take their names from the mysterious Paps, the island's three famous mountains. This is what Jura has to say about them:
Alll 3 new whiskies are 15 years old. The Paps whiskies have been meticulously crafted to reflect the various distinctive characteristics of the island's dramatic mountains. The rarefied air, the majesty of the land and the rich tapestry of island history are all locked into each and every bottle:
The Sacred Mountain Like the mountain itself, give this island malt due reverence with its soft, chewy caramel, fudge, Madeira cake and ripe apple flavours that combine in the mouth.
Mountain of the Sound Be transported to this mountain and whisky's namesake, the impossibly narrow channel that snakes between the islands of Jura and Islay, as thick toffee, orange rind and bitter chocolate flow across your tongue.
Mountain of Gold Imagine watching the morning sun from the top of the island's tallest peak as you savour sweetened mulled wine giving way to peppered pine nuts, liquorice and cinnamon tobacco.
All 3 of these special malts will only be available in very small numbers for approx £100 per bottle either the Jura distillery shop tel: 00 44 (0)1496 820385 or other whisky specialist shops.
