|
|
As I am sure many of you have noticed that The Macallan Ruby in no longer available in whisky shops. I asked The Macallan to confirm what the situation was with the whisky and they have confirmed that it has been discontinued, The Macallan told me:
| Quote: | Following three successful years in which we have seen unprecedented demand, The Macallan Ruby will cease production. The popularity of this product has led to a shortage of the required whisky/stock profile to continue to supply at the levels we have witnessed. The Macallan single malt stock is globally restricted due to its inherent scarcity.
The Macallan continues to develop and evolve its range around the world and explore the best use of stock to meet consumer needs and keep the brand in the strongest position. As such, our intention is to roll out Rare Cask globally to offer a consistent portfolio to our consumers around the world.

| Not sure I understand this...... So they don't have enough stock to keep the Ruby going. But isn't the Rare Cask made with the rarest 1% of their Sherry casks?? Yet they have enough to " Roll Rare Cask" out globally. Am I missing something here? |

Of course, I'm sure the real reason they're discontinuing it is because it's too successful... |

interesting most shops found it hard to charge the same price for the ruby macallan as well promote it when you can buy the 18 year old macallan which is about the same price
as well as the gold being poor the other two are not to bad but no age statement maybe made buyers a bit wary as well as the price

They should discontinue all bottles from this colour based series and try to rebuilt their reputation!
Ruby (as other expressions from this series) aren’t the best sellers and you can find them on shelves of many shops. |
