| I still haven't tried the new Talisker Skye as i have a stock of the 10 year old in the cupboard. Interesting to hear you think they are very similar. Perhaps Diageo intend to take the 10 year old off shelves and replace it with Skye which is possibly just a 10 year old with a portion of young Talisker thrown in to bulk it out and stretch available stocks and profits. |

I tried it at LHR last week. I found it very poor, a watered-down and young tasting *** poor imitation of what Talisker is all about. _________________ Talisker 18 - the rest are just details |

| I enjoyed but hey if your drinking bigger, stronger, more expensive whiskies then maybe you end up with that view, and we all are different and thats the fun of it all. |

Ah, but that's because that's exactly what it is. It even says so on the tube and back of the bottle. _________________ "Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whisky is barely enough." |

| To me the Talisker Skye is like a watered down version of the Talisker 10 character although it is still the same 45.8% strength. It is one Talisker i wont be repeat buying and it is certainly not worth the price they are selling it at. Sadlly i do think they intend to replace the 10 year old on high street shop shelves with the Talisker Skye. |

| I dont smoke and never have. I am not saying the Talisker Skye is a bad whisky, it is just not what i want and expect from Talisker, like a said it is like a watered down version of what i expect. |

Can't stand it myself. Gutted the 10 appears to be discontinued.
Next the 25 will be supercharged in price and out of reach for us mere mortals. |

As long as they keep churning out the 57 deg north at the quality and price it is I couldn't care what they did with the rest of the range to me that's the one that stands out the best. _________________ "Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whisky is barely enough." |

I wouldnt say the Talisker Skye is bad at all, it is different to the 10 and other existing Talisker expressions, compared with the 10 year old i would say it has less peat, it is sweeter and it still has a nice bit of pepper and sea salt although less than the 10.
It should be priced less than the 10 but it is priced around the same as the 10, i have no doubt this is because Diageo do intend to replace the 10 year old with the Talisker Skye.
Will i buy the Skye again, perhaps if it is on offer at a price closer to £20. |
