Just seen a post on the Bowmore Facebook page that's advertising 50yo Bowmore available to buy for £800 per 35ml dram. That works out at £16,000 a bottle!! No thanks.

If I remember correctly £16,000 was the price of a full bottle of the Bowmore 50 year old, not that I bought one.

I should imagine there are very few of us who could afford a dram let alone a bottle of that. Would be nice to try it though Smile

The 40 pus year whiskies are pretty awesome. The oldest whiskies I've had are 46 and 45 years, i.e., the Clan Denny Dumbarton Single Grain Single Cask scotch and the Tamnavulin 45 year single malt and some others over 35 years.

A member of my single malt club had occasion to try the Glenfiddich 50 in Las Vegas at a whisky show.

having tried the macallan 1946 1948 and 1949

as well as the springbank 50 year old from the millennium set

all free of charge thankfully

made me realise I wouldn't spend the money to buy the full bottles very enjoyable but not worth the money and the springbank was bland
