| Has anyone tried this Whisky before? I almost picked up a bottle today, as I've never come across one here before. I'm not a fan or peat or smoke. |

| A lovely rich mature dram, a nice sherry influence, not a peaty whisky. |

| Had a couple of bottles and it is very good, as Whisky Dog says it has a light sherried fruity style, |

Hi Chris. I've had this one at tastings. Here's my taste notes from 2015:

Frankly, I think you would love it. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

Are there other Whiskies that this can be compared to? To give me an idea if I'll like it.
I love Balvenie, Glendronach,Glenmorangie, Macallan , Glenlivet,Glenfiddich and Glengoyne. |

In general I would describe Bunnahabhain as light bodied, medium sweet, very low level of peat (although they do some heavily peated stuff), a little floral and fruity, some spice and honey. The Bunna 25 is all of these with additional sherry fruit notes from the sherry casks. Quaich1/Murrays rating of the Bunna 25 is spot on, if you don't mind a touch of peat, it is a cracking dram.
It does have touches of the whiskies you mention, but it is its own malt and a very good one. |

| All I can add is the Bunnahabhain 18 is very good and I guess the 25 is very good. |

Thanks Mark. Would you say a lot less peated than say a Highland Park 15 or 18 ? |

I've just bought another bottle of the standard Bunna 12 which is for my money one of the best standard bottlings around. I'd say that generally Bunnahabhain is much less peaty/smoky than Highland Park.
I recently had a fantastic 1979 Signatory Vintage Bunna (32yo) which was not peaty/smoky at all, much more spicy, rich and very complex - an outstanding dram. |

| Yes less peated than Highland Park, but there is still a whiff smoke on the nose and a gentle light peatiness on the palate. |
