Last month Loch Lomond single malt entered the world of travel retail for the first time with the launch four of their expressions at the Highland distillery's local airport, Glasgow airport.

The large industrial factory like Loch Lomond distillery is located in Alexandria, near the southernmost shore of Loch Lomond from where it takes its name, it is a rather unique distillery as its set up is quite different from every other distillery in Scotland, with four different types of stills.

The four travel retail whiskies are not new expressions, they are whiskies which we are already familiar with but they are presented in 1 litre bottles as all travel retail bottles should be but sadly are not these days.

Glasgow airports World of Whiskies store is only the first stop in an ambitious worldwide roll-out of the Loch Lomond travel retail range, which will soon launch in Nordic travel retail markets followed by Canada and the US. There is also plans for the Loch Lomond Original NAS single malt to join the travel retail line up in the future.

More info here plus my review of a few of the Loch Lomond whiskies here (my pick from the range is the Loch Lomond 12 year old):

I have never tried the Loch Lomond 12 but it does sound worth a try going by your review William. It is always good to find another decent single malt at this end of the price scale.

I agree the Loch Lomond 12 is surprisingly good.

William I have to say my experience of Loch Lomond is mainly the old Loch Lomond NAS single malt you mention which was around £12 a bottle about 10 years ago and it was overpriced then. You have me intrigued now to perhaps try the 12 year old.

The new Loch Lomond Original NAS is quite a improvement on the old NAS statement which came in the blue tube. The Loch Lomond 12 for its price is a cracking fruity dram,
