Hi all,

I was wondering if you could help suggest a couple options for a bottle of 18 or 21yr scotch in Ontario.

I've tried the Glenfarclas 17, Glenlivet 18 (favorite), HP18, and Glenfiddich 18. Looking for a few other options in the 18 range and also 21. Another one I enjoyed was the Glen Garoich 1995 which is around the 18yr mark. I tend to like the less peat/smoky ones but open to options.

I really like Redbreast 15yr; realize its an Irish whisky but was also considering the 21 as it appears to be in the LCBO too.

Thanks in advance.

Interesting thank you! 21 is natural colour too!

How would that line up against the Glenlivet 21? Really liked the 18 so was also considering that alongside RB21.

The Glengoyne 18 is natural colour as well.

The Glengoyne 21 is IMHO a far better Whisky than the Glenlivet 21

One of my favorites is The Macallan 21. A really good Scotch is Langavulin 16. (Okay, it is a 16 and not an 18.)

Picked up the Glengoyne 18yr today. I was really mulling over the 18 or 21. I tend to be a bit more Bourbon cask on my scotches so figured the 21 might be a bit too much sherry to start. If I love the 18 then I'll step up to the 21 next!

Thanks all

hmmm interesting.. now I'm intrigued with the Glengoyne 21. I'll have to add it to the list. I remember seeing it for $135 CAD somewhere.. now just got to find it again.

The 18 is very nice on first impressions! Not used to no peat but very smooth and enjoyable. Reminds me of a refined Aberlour abunda with the sherry influence. This would pair nice with food - will have to try with some desert or chocolate!

I think it'll be my next big purchase. I really like the 18. Quite unique without any peat.

How does the 21 compare to the 18?

I find Glengoyne steps up in quality as it steps up in age. For me Glengoyne 18 is ok, the 21 is excellent and the 25 is outstanding.
