I see the LCBO is starting to stock Glenfarclas Lorne Scots Commemorative 8, 10 , 12 and Single Cask 2007, priced at 72, 76, 85 and 236 respectively.

I haven't heard much about any of these but am a fan of Glenfaclas...any members try or have thoughts about these?

These are new to me, I suspect they may be exclusive to Canada or the LCBO. What strength have they been bottled at?

Single cask 2007 is 58%
12 year 43%
8 and 10 are both 40%

235.00 for a 9 year old cask strength ? Not a chance. These were bottled just for the LCBO, so not a real collectible either.

I'll be taking a pass on all of them

Agreed the 2007 cask strength seems priced very high..but the others seem reasonable..by Ontario standards of course lol.

I was looking at these too. I really like the 17 and was trying to find the 12 or 15 in Ontario. Looks like these are the only current options. The 12yr looks interesting.

What I've read on the 8, 10 and 12 is that it's their regular bottling with special labelling. So nothing new under the hood. However, I'm a Glenfarclas fan and have had the regular bottlings of the 10 and 12 which I've enjoyed. Seems the 15 is the way to go generally though...

I've only had the 17 and it was great. The 12 and 15 I want to try. Might take a chance on the 12yr of this bottle run.

The 8 or 9 year old cask strength bottle isn't selling at all......as expected. The LCBO may have no choice but to choke on this one. Look for heavy discounts around Christmas if this is still around

Not exactly Chris, they sold almost 200 bottles of the limited 646 out-turn in about one week at the LCBO. That's 30% sold of the total bottles available in a week. I expect they will all go in about a month. Let''s not be too hasty on the doom and gloom.

Who is Chris? Lol

No Murray, they only released 500 bottles. The rest are kept for VIP's. That is where most of the stock of Macallan Ruby went. Did you know the LCBO still keeps stock of the Macallan 18 ?? There are a ton of hard to get Whisky the LCBO keeps for VIP, heads of state and Corp lackies.

I now have a friend that works in the Warehouse and he says it's FULL of some of the rarest stuff in the world. It really doesn't shock me......I guess they use all that buying power to benefit the top 1% of the population.

No Jay. I took a quick count on vintages website when they were first released and they had over 600 for sell..Where do you get only 500 being released? Rumors aren't facts.

Rumour? Lol.

They showed 600 and change available and the next day it was 500 even just as the clock passed midnight when the LCBO website resets.

Are you telling me that over 100 plus bottles were sold in 8 hours and then the wheels just fell off ? Sorry Murray, the LCBO is playing their usual games and I feel bad for people that see stock " disappear" and run out to buy a bottle, only to find the inventory stalls days later.

So by my math that is really only 45 bottles sold in a week with over 600 stores in Ontario.

I have no interest in continuing this conversation. Period!
