Alister, Chalie Richards is a brand from a company of the same name which is a subsidiary of Halewood International Limited which is an English company.
Based in Merseyside, Halewood Wines & Spirits was founded by the late John Halewood in 1978. Today, still owned by the Halewood family, Halewood International Holdings Limited is a large UK independent drinks manufacturer and distributor, with a turnover of £230 million.
They are mainly importers of wine but also have some spirits in their range which you may recognise such as Lambs Navy Rum.
They have or had a few Scotch whiskies in their range such as Chalie Richards, Highland Gold, Highland Poacher, Highland Prince and Tartan Prince. They also had a few Irish , Canadian and American whiskies, all of which they do not appear to have today. I am not sure when they discontinued Charlie Richards but you could try contacting Halewood International via their website, they may be able to give you more info than I have.
Today Chalié Richards is the wine division of Halewood International Ltd.

If I am seeing your picture correctly, its late and I have had a drink , then it is a 700ml bottle, about 1991/1992 the EEC (or EU as they call it now) changed the standard size from 750ml to 700ml so that would age the whisky as being bottled no earlier than the 1990s
I hope that helps. _________________ There's no bad whisky. Just good whisky and better whisky. |
